On behalf of Dignify Dementia, it is my pleasure to invite you to support our 3rd Annual Jim’s Journey Fundraising Event, an uplifting community gathering dedicated to raising awareness, promoting compassion, and supporting families affected by dementia. This special event honors the journey of my dad, Jim Desserich, and countless others who face dementia with courage every day.

Jim inspired the creation of Dignify Dementia, a small, web-based nonprofit, with his desire to “help other people like him (those living with a dementia diagnosis) and other families like ours (families caring for a loved one with a dementia diagnosis at home). Here, it is our mission to support individuals, family members, and other care partners navigating the challenges of dementia. By providing resources and developing a community, we aim to reduce the fear and stress of adjusting to this new reality and preserve the independence and dignity of everyone living with dementia.

This year’s Jim Journey will take place on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at FlyteCO Tower in Denver, CO. We expect an inspiring turnout of community members, caregivers, advocates, and local partners who share our mission. Funds raised directly support our programs, including our free online resource library, our free cognitive wellness toolkit components, monthly interactive discussions, a monthly caregiver support group, and our educational speakership series at CU Anschutz Center.
